NEW WORKSHOP OFFERED
Creating Art With 5 Senses

Learning to be present in the art process

How do artists create? Is it natural ability? Is it learned technique? Is it something hazy and nebulous called “talent”? Art-making, in part requires noticing, seeing, recording, hearing, touching and paying attention. In other words, artists use or learn to use all of their senses. A good deal of art “making” is done before any tool is put to paper.

Rather than creating through any kind of logic, learned response or technique, this class will explore ways to tap into each sense in order to “see” things in a new way without preconception and learn how to translate what is sensed into a visual artwork. If you have ever felt the desire to create something, but did not know where to begin, let this class open up a space where you can discover a way to sprout that creative seed using what nature has already given you. This is a class offered to all levels of experience and a variety of media will be used.

One day workshop: Saturday, March 31, 2012, 10-4 (please bring a lunch, tea provided)
$95.00 (must have at least 5 students to run)
Materials: all materials will be provided, but feel free to bring whatever you like.
